I start focusing on wood carving. The reason is, in my country wood carving is a profession for men. I thought it was discrimination towards females. So I started working on wood carving and developing my new skills.
This is a casket that I carved and a chess board behind. I used different patterns from my culture. In Tajikistan elements like geometric and organic patterns were essential. Because it used to be prohibited to explore human figures due to religious reasons. But I just wanted to explore traditional elements that have been constantly explored in art throughout Persian history.
